Storage inaccessible or behaving badly
Hard Drive & SSD Data Recovery is for recovering files from problematic storage. It does not include repairing the computer or replacing the drive.
What you’ll get
- An initial check of the storage problem and an explanation of whether standard recovery is suitable
- Conventional diagnostics, a drive image where suitable, and software-based recovery attempts without writing recovered files back to the source
- Recovery attempts for the files you agree are most important, followed by a check of what can be opened
- Recovered files copied to suitable separate storage you provide, or a replacement device agreed and priced separately
- A clear explanation of the outcome and sensible backup advice; recovery cannot be guaranteed
- No recovery fee if none of the agreed files can be recovered. If recovery is partial, I explain what is usable and agree the outcome with you before charging
- If specialist help is needed, I stop and explain the options. Referral or separately quoted work only goes ahead with your agreement
Ideal if...
- A hard drive or SSD has become inaccessible
- A computer will not boot and a storage problem is suspected, with files you need to save
- An external drive is not behaving correctly
- A file system or partition has become corrupted
- A USB stick or memory card has recoverable files but will not open normally
Not ideal if...
- Failed controllers, internal mechanical damage, chip-level work or cleanroom recovery: these need a specialist and are not included in £89
- Replacement storage, substantial computer repairs or other additional work: quoted separately
- Ransomware decryption or bypassing encryption without the required password or recovery key
- Simple deleted or misplaced files on a working device: choose Lost Files & Photo Recovery
What I need from you
- The affected device or drive, with its power supply or cable if needed
- Which files matter most, what happened and any recovery attempts already made
- Any encryption password or recovery key, shared securely when needed
- Suitable separate storage for recovered files, or agreement to the cost of a replacement
- Stop using the affected storage and avoid repeated recovery attempts. If it clicks, has physical damage or keeps disconnecting, leave it powered off and ask first
