What you’ll get

• The fault checked properly first, so you aren’t paying for a part that wasn’t the problem
• A compatible part found and priced before anything is ordered (parts extra)
• Keyboard, trackpad or battery replaced where that model allows it
• Everything tested before the laptop comes back to you
• An honest answer if the repair costs more than the laptop is worth

Ideal if...

• Keys have stopped working, stick, or something got spilled on them
• The trackpad won’t click, drifts, or has stopped responding
• The battery lasts minutes, or won’t charge at all
• The laptop is otherwise fine and worth keeping

Not ideal if...

• The screen is cracked, blank or flickering, as I don’t take screen work on
• The battery is glued in rather than screwed in, as it is on many thin laptops and most modern Macs
• The repair needs soldering, such as a loose power socket or anything board-level
• The laptop won’t start at all (start with PC/Mac Rescue so we find out why first)
• The laptop is old enough that the part costs more than a replacement machine

• The laptop and its charger
• The make and model (a photo of the label underneath is easiest)
• Your login, so it can be tested properly before it comes back
• Anything important backed up first, or tell me and we’ll sort that before touching anything
