About Marple Tech Help
Calm, professional tech support — based in Marple (SK6)
Real help, right on your doorstep
Marple Tech Help was born from a simple, frustrating moment: watching an elderly customer being oversold a PC in a big-box store. They didn’t need half of what was being pushed at them — they just needed someone on their side.
That moment became the foundation of everything I do.
I provide calm, plain-English help choosing the right technology and getting it set up properly — without commission, pressure, or unnecessary upgrades. Just honest advice and practical support.
Everything I offer fits into one of four clear areas:
-
Tech Rescue
Fix what’s broken, slow, or annoying.
- Fault-finding and fixing everyday tech problems
- Devices that won’t connect, update, or behave properly
- Slow, unstable, or confusing setups
- Clear next steps when repair or replacement is needed

Meet Martyn
I’m the person behind Marple Tech Help.
Stockport has always felt like home. I grew up near Marple, and even when my family moved away partway through primary school, this area always felt like the place I’m from.
Today, I live and work in Marple (SK6), and most of the help I provide is local.
From tech… to law… and back again
I got my first real taste of “proper tech life” during the dot-com years, working in desk-side support, PC builds, server management, and software testing. If it had a plug, I was probably fixing it.
Later, I trained and qualified as a solicitor, dealing with wills, probate, and commercial property, before retraining as a teacher working in the UK and Asia.
That mix of experience shapes how I work today — whether it’s the real-world importance of Digital Legacy planning, or the patience of a teacher explaining a new iPad for the third time. I bring a calm, professional approach to everyday technology.
