Wi-Fi problems fixed — dead zones, drop-outs, and “it works upstairs but not downstairs”.

I’ll diagnose the real cause (placement, interference, old hardware, mesh settings) and get you a setup that stays stable.

What I can help with

  • Dead zones, extensions and garden offices that never get full signal
  • Mesh systems (BT Whole Home, Deco, Orbi, Eero) that still drop out
  • Video calls that stutter or drop on Teams/Zoom/FaceTime
  • Smart TVs, printers and consoles that refuse to reconnect after a new router

What it usually costs / how long it takes

Most visits: 60–120 mins

Typical cost: £65–£95 (most jobs finish within the first 1–1.5 hours)

If it’s likely to take longer, I’ll tell you before we keep going.

Common symptoms

  • Wi-Fi drops during video calls
  • Weak signal in extensions / garden rooms
  • Mesh installed but still unreliable
  • Smart TV/printer won’t stay connected

How the visit works

  1. Quick questions to understand your layout, ISP hardware and symptoms.
  2. Measure signals where you actually use the connection.
  3. Fix the simplest thing first (placement, channels, firmware) before suggesting new kit.
  4. If upgrades help, I’ll recommend sensible options, set them up and document the new layout.

Common Questions

Will a Wi-Fi booster fix it?

Usually, no. Cheap plug-in boosters often just repeat a weak signal, making it slower. A mesh system (which replaces your router’s Wi-Fi) is almost always the better long-term fix.

Do I need to change my broadband provider?

Rarely. The problem is usually the router (the black box), not the line coming into your house. We can fix the Wi-Fi inside your home without changing your contract.

Can you fix Wi-Fi in my garden office?

Yes. Depending on the distance, we can use a mesh disc, a powerline adapter, or an outdoor cable run to get a solid signal out there.
